2010 London Motor Show Cancelled

The organizers of The British International Motor Show have cancelled their 2010 exhibit due to take place in London. The slump in the auto industry has led to a lack of interest from manufacturers and as the main car launches happen in Spring and Autumn an event in July lacks the excitement needed to make the show a success.

Apparently car companies are losing interest in these events as the fees to exhibit are high, building a stand and staffing them can cost millions and lots of the car makers feel that direct contact with their customers is more effective.

Does this hail the end for the big auto shows?
